Answer: I love this machine. I have used it on wood, tile, and linoleum with no problem, but I do use the power head not the regular floor attachment. I go from one area the next with just a change in motor speed.

Answer: I empty mine fairly often because I have a dog and it does such a great job picking up hair. I have no problem with it though. It takes maybe 5 minutes. I just take a grocery bag and put the top in the bag and then release the cup. That contains the debris. If you don’t have a dog, you should be able to vacuum several times.
