Answer: I don’t think so. I just used the normal additive given with mine. It really cleans sufficiently. I have tracked in first and sand and it gets it clean.

Answer: Unfortunately — not. I am not able to clean the stairs with it. It works great on the carpets throughout the rest of my house. I have to clean the stairs by hand. 🙁

Answer: the front nozzle of the cleaner can be removed for cleaning while you can rinse out the water tank to remove any excess dirty water or debris.

Answer: if the brush needs to be cleaned, we recommend unplugging the machine and cleaning it by hand. The brush can also be removed from the cleaner if a deeper clean is needed.

Answer: No professional here, I don’t see why not. The hot water and the bristles should work great.

Answer: The short answer is yes. You fill the container with water and cleaning solution. There is a button on the handle that you depress as you move the machine over the carpet to dispense liquid. Then you release the button and go over the same area to suck up the water. So the machine does both.

Answer: Sorry, I am not sure. You would have to contact the MFG for that one.

Answer: You will probably need an enzymatic cleaner designed for pet stains for that type of stain. The Bissell product that I purchased to clean cat urine helped some, but not totally, with the odor. I cannot address the stain issue, because my carpet is brown and I do not see a stain.

Answer: There are no attachments for couches or stairs.
Question: How do you get the plug out on the bottom to empty? Mine won’t budge. I have to empty through the top (very messy).
Answer: I empty from the top.

Answer: Not sure what you mean by soft carpet. But we use it on every carpet in the house and it does wonders. Wife loves it. Just make sure you check a small area with the cleaner to ensure it will not stain or lighten the material first. We have not had that issue but you never know.

Answer: The model number is located on the bottom of the cleaner, not sure about the serial number. I looked all over on mine and could only find that. Sorry I couldn’t help you further.
