Overview

The eufy by Anker, BoostIQ RoboVac 30C is an mid-level robot vacuum with a lot of advancements. Released in 2019, it is still one of the the best-selling eufy robotic vacuum cleaners.

At the price around 300 bucks (we actually find it on sale on Amazon quite frequently), Robovac 30C holds a lot of benefits such as strongest suction power (1500 Pa motor), greatest filtration system (triple filters), slimmest profile (2.85 in), quietest noise level (55 dB), boundary strip , WiFi and Alexa conductivity, and a long run time (about 100 minutes).

Thanks to these improvements, Robovac 30C peaks as one of the top-rated robot vacuum cleaner at affordable price. It is highly recommended if you are searching for a high-performance model within the budget.

On the downside, Robovac 30C is still an entry-level model, therefore do not expect this unit to have advanced benefits like mapping technology, efficient navigation, selective area cleaning like expensive ones.

Should you buy Robovac 30C in 2020?

We highly recommend Robovac 30C if you are seeking for a moderate price robot with strong suction, low noise, better filtration and easy to use benefits.

Robovac 30C has boundary strips and WiFi connection, therefore, it is way better than previous models of this brand.

Compare with Other Models

Additionally, you may want to check out eufy’s more advanced robot vacuums such as the RoboVac L70 Hybrid (vacuum and wet mop for floors) or the RoboVac G10 Hybrid (sweeps and mops hard floors only).

Technologies and Benefits of RoboVac 30C

Construction

Robovac 30C has an identical design to Robovac 11S, Robovac 15C series. They have the same dimensions, dust bin capacity, washable filtration system, brush design, wheel design, and anti-scratch glass top. Robovac 30C is measured by 12.8 x 12.8 x 2.85 in. The dust bin is 600 mL and its large wheels allow the robot to transverse up to 0.65 in without difficulty.

The first, most noticing improvement of Robovac 30C is the motor power. This model uses a 1500 Pa motor to generate suction power.

As you may know, a standard robot vacuum at entry-level often uses a motor of 1000 Pa. Therefore, you can expect this model to have much stronger suction. Eufy stated this model has 3X suction compared to its original model (Robovac 10 series, 1000 Pa motor).

The second important improvement that will benefit a lot when using the robot is the boundary strip. Previous Robovac units do not have the boundary strip to limit areas. In the package, Robovac 30C has a 13.2 ft boundary strip, which will make it very easy for users to block wires, cables zones, toilet door.

Third, thanks to the use of 1500 Pa, Robovac 30C is now capable of cleaning mid-pile carpets better. When cleaning mid-pile carpets, the robot uses its highest suction power to lift hair, loose fibers, dust. The run time on mid-pile carpets, as a result, is shortened (40 minutes). When running on bare floors (tile, laminate, hardwood), Robovac 30C remains its longest run time up to 100 minutes.

To control the robot, you can use a remote or via a smartphone. Robovac 30C is wifi connected and it is compatible with both Alexa skills and Google Assistant.

BoostIQ technology – second generation

As one of the newest model from the brand, Robovac 30C applies the 2nd generation of BoostIQ – a technology to automatically increase suction power within 1.5 seconds.

Li-Ion battery – Long run time

Robovac 30C uses a 2600 mAh 14.4V Li-Ion pack, similar to previous models. This battery pack can last for 100 minutes on bare floors, 50 minutes on low pile carpets and 40 minutes on mid pile carpets.

On the other hands, Robovac 30C has a long charging time up to 5-6 hours for a full charge.

Infrared sensors – Adequate dirt detection

As expected, Robovac 30C still uses the infrared sensors for detecting the dirt and obstacles. It also uses anti-drop sensors for cliff detect to avoid falls off. To protect the robot, make sure the anti-drop sensors are always cleaned.

Very silent

The noise level of Robovac 30C is better than any competitors. Robovac 30C is noticeably silent. Its typical noise level is about 55 dB, which is nothing but similar to a microwave noise. To give you a comparison the Roomba 600 has noise level of about 65 dB.

Pros and cons

What We Like…

  • Ability to connect to Alexa.
  • Ability to schedule cleanings.
  • Clean mid pile carpets.
  • Amazing suction – it’s very useful for pet hair.
  • Gets itself out of corners.
  • Long Battery Life.
  • Magnetic boundaries.

What Could Be Better…

  • Get stuck on cords sometimes.
  • Random vacuuming – no mapping or path cleaning features.
  • Sometimes has trouble finding its way back to dock.
  • If it returns back to dock to recharge mid cleaning, it does not “remember” where it left off.
  • Although it does have a nice washable filter, it is not HEPA certified.

Performance of RoboVac 30c

Watch the video to see how RoboVac 30c cleans carpets with its random cleaning mode. The robot has a soft pump when facing obstacles and it avoids the stairs perfectly to protect itself.

Maintenance

To get the best performance of the robot vacuum, you should also care for the maintenance parts of Robovac 30C. As suggested from Eufy, you should replace

  • Filters: every 2 months
  • Rolling brush: 1- 2 per years
  • Side brush: 2-4 per years

To save the cost, Eufy has included extra sets of filters and up to 4 brushes in the package.
