Overview

The Ecovacs Deebot 711 Robot Vacuum Cleaner with Smart Navi 2.0 Systematic Mapping Cleaning is an improvement of the most popular robot vacuum model Deebot N79s.

This robot vacuum applies the second generation of navigation technology. Instead of using random mode to move around, ECOVACS DEEBOT 711 uses optical sensors to detect the floors and obstacles.

Therefore, ECOVACS DEEBOT 711 is more versatile and efficient in performance which we will discuss in later part.

Apart from the sensor technology improvements, ECOVACS DEEBOT 711 remains the benefits found on the Deebot N79s series such as long run time ( 110 minutes), wifi connection and Alexa compatibility, automatic recharge, suction boost features.

Technologies and benefits of Ecovacs Deebot 711

Construction

Ecovacs Deebot 711 is a circular shaped robot vacuum cleaner, designed for cleaning hard floors, carpets (thin and mid pile) when you are busy to run errands or on way back home. This robot is measured by 13.9 x 13.9 x 3.3 in. The low profile ( 3.3 in height) helps the robot to move under low clearance furniture easily.

To store the dust and debris, this model uses a dust bin of 300 mL which is pretty similar to Roomba 690. On the app, you will see the remained cleaning capacity and the estimated remaining time of the filter. It is convenient for you to observe and know when to empty the dust bin.

On average, Deebot 711 can clean 1300 sq ft per cleaning cycle.

To activate this robot, you can use the remote or the App installed on your phone. The wifi connection feature helps you to order your robot with Alexa Voice or Google Assistant.

The second generation of sensor technology

Deebot 711 applies VSLAM (a camera on the top) to record the room and floor plan. This technology is better than the previous one used on Deebot N79 and Deebot N79s.

The use of VSLAM sensors helps us to see the cleaning floor plan on the App. However, it is not very advanced as Roomba best robot cleaner model (Roomba 960 and 980). You can only see the process of cleaning but you can’t customize or add rooms into the floor plan.

2 suction settings

This Deebot 711 delivers a 1000 Pa suction power on casual mode. When dealing with carpets or difficult tasks, you can ask the robot to boost the suction 2X.

3 cleaning patterns

Deebot 711 has an Auto mode (path cleaning), Edge mode and Spot cleaning mode. You can view the real-time cleaning process on the App.

Deebot 711 cleaning mode

The best part is that it gives us a better sense of how the room is cleaned. However, sometimes, Deebot 711 still skips the debris when it encounters the first time.

Self-recharge

Like many popular robot vacuums, Deebot 711 has a self-recharging feature. It does not have an auto-resume feature like Deebot 901 (the most advanced robot from Ecovacs).

Low noise

Typical noise level of Deebot 711 falls in the ranges of 62 dB (low mode). We can talk, watch TV without any  interruption

No virtual boundaries

Deebot 711 still does not have a virtual boundary to set up no-go zone. You can use boundary strips (similar to Deebot N79s) to limit some areas with cords, wires, toilet….

Compare Deebot 711 vs Other Robot Vacuums

Deebot 711 vs Deebot N79s

As the second generation of Ecovacs robot vacuum cleaners, Deebot 711 is equipped with better sensor technologies and better design to give more features for users.

For instances, has a path cleaning mode to cover the whole floor plan. It shows real-time cleaning process, estimated remaining time of filters and more for us to control and use the robot better.

Second, the Deebot 711 dust bin is significantly bigger than Deebot N79s (520 mL vs 300 mL). Therefore, Deebot 711 has a higher cleaning capacity while the weight and dimensions of both models are the same.

Apart from these differences, Deebot 711 vs Deebot N79s seems to have a similar construction, motor power, and filtration. The price of Deebot 711 is about 2-fold compared with Deebot N79s.

Deebot 711 vs Roomba 690

Let us compare Deebot 711 with the most affordable and popular Roomba 690 from iRobot.

Roomba 690 is an entry-level robot unit from iRobot. The best part of Roomba 690 compared to Deebot 711 is that it has virtual boundaries to limit no- go zones. Roomba 690 has big dust bin size (600 mL) and it is also wifi connected (Alexa skills and Google Assistant compatible).

Besides, Roomba 690 is a little bit cheaper than Deebot 711.

Deebot 711 has floor plan report and path cleaning mode which is big differences to Roomba 690. Besides, it is also very convenient to use because you can control both a remote or smartphone. Roomba 690 does not have a remote in the package.
