Overview
The Shark® Sonic Duo® Carpet & Hard Floor Cleaner was a unique cleaning machine that is capable of cleaning carpets, rugs and bare floor types like hardwood floor, vinyl, tiles and stones by its scrubbing activities.
We say “was” because this carpet and floor cleaning machine has been discontinued (however, we did find it available refurbished and certified renewed on Amazon). When it was first released by Shark, it was pretty revolutionary. It’s actually more of a scrubber than full on carpet cleaning machine.
As great as this carpet and hard floor cleaning machine is, as of this writing, Shark is no longer making carpet cleaners or carpet shampooers. They do however, have a powerful line of steam mops (and vacuums of course!)
But there is good news. If you are interested in purchasing this versatile carpet and floor cleaner, as mentioned previously, you can still find it online as overstock or renewed.
Like many other manufacturers, Shark uses different numbers based upon vendor, version and/or if bonus tools are included. Some models you may come across include ZZ550, ZZ550C, ZZ550CW, KD450W, KD450WM, KD451T, SP1000, SP600, SP600Q and ZZ510Q.
For this review, we are going to be looking at the Shark Sonic Duo ZZ550.

Shark Sonic Duo Carpet & Hard Floor Cleaner – Benefits
While Shark is known for it’s powerful vacuums, this model is a floor and carpet cleaner only. When cleaning the carpets and rugs, you firstly need to vacuum over the area, then using the special carpet cleaning formula (comes with the package) to clean the carpet.
When using as a hard floor cleaner, you can use the specially formulated cleaning solution with the pads to remove the dirt.
