Shark ION ROBOT 720 Vacuum with Easy Scheduling Remote (RV720) reviews
The Shark Ion Robot 720 is Shark’s innovative robotic vacuum cleaner which is designed for home with pets. This unit is controlled by a remote (Shark Ion Robot 750 is controlled by a phone app) to schedule the cleaning routine.
The best part of Shark Ion Robot 720 is that it uses a self-cleaning brush roll which is tangle-free to capture the pet hair, girl hair, dust and allergens without being clogged.
For edge cleaning, you can attach the dual spinning brushes to the unit to pull off dirt from stair corners.
The model uses a Li-ion battery for running maximal of 60 minutes per charge which is quite sufficient to clean the entire home. The model also features smart sensors to identify obstacles and floor types to prevent falling off.
Last but not least, this unit is quite affordable and very durable.
On the downside, Shark Ion Robot 720 does not have wifi connection therefore you can not control the unit while you are not there and the running time is about 60 minutes which is shorter than rivals like Roomba or ILIFE (The updated version Shark Ion Robot 750 has added this feature ). Let’s check for the technologies and benefits of this unit below.
Technologies and benefits of Shark Ion Robot 720
Smart sensors navigation
Like any robot vacuum, Shark Ion Robot uses smart sensors to detect the obstacles while moving around. The sensors are capable of realizing floors, carpets and furniture around your home.
Sometimes, users love to have a remote control when using a home appliance rather than using the smart phone. Shark Ion Robot 720 has a remote for scheduling the robot activities like docking, charging, cleaning…
Self-cleaning brush roll
Because the pet hairs can cause the robot vacuum brushes to stop working, Shark Ion Robot 720 uses a self-cleaning brush roll. You basically can remove the brush roll and use the scissors to cut the pet hair, girl hair easily.
One of the best part of Shark Ion Robot 720 is that it has a very low profile only about 2.6 inches (one of the lowest robot unit on the market) so that it can navigate under kitchen cabinets, furniture, nightstand… A robot vacuum with high profile will fail to clean these areas.
Side brushes for cleaning edges
The unit has 2 side brushes to pull out more dirt at corners
Allow the brush roll to be free from tangling with long hairs, girl hairs and more
Tools: scheduling remote, triple A batteries for remote, side brushes, filters, Lithium-ion battery, charging dock, 9 feet of botboundary, botboundary connectors and cleaning tool.
Shark ion 720 vs 750
The Shark Ion 750 is the updated version of Shark Ion 720 model, these models are basically using the same design and core feature, but Shark Ion 750 has wifi connection and Alexa compatible, allowing you to control, schedule via smart phone. Shark Ion 720 does not have wifi connection.
Shark ion 720 vs Roomba
Shark Ion 720 is quite similar to Roomba 600s series (especially Roomba 650 model). Both of them offers the same run time, cleaning efficiency and price range. Shark Ion 720 and Roomba 650 do not have wifi connection too. The updated models of them have improved this issue (Shark Ion 750 and Roomba 690 has wifi connection).
However, Shark Ion 720 has one more benefit that is the self cleaning brush roll, which lets the brushroll untangle long hair, string, and fibers. Roomba 650 does not have this technology. This can be a great addition of Shark models because brush tangling is very annoying.
