Overview
When it first came out, the DEEBOT N79 Wi-Fi Connected Robotic Vacuum was Ecovacs Robotics’ most famous and popular low price robot vacuum cleaner. Because it is now an older model, it is harder to find and during our research we even found it being sold for significantly more than it’s original price.
You can save money purchasing it used and/or renewed, however before you do, our recommendation is to compare the features with newer models, to make sure you are getting the best deal for your needs.
This unit is featured by 3-tier cleaning system and 3 specialized cleaning modes for better performance when compared to the precedent Deebot N78.
The model is also WiFi connected and has anti collision and drop sensors for protecting from falling off.
On the downside, Deebot N79 does not have virtual wall and automatic resume after recharging like Deebot R95.
Deebot N79 vs Deebot N79S – Newer Generation
The newer version of Deebot N79 is the N79S version. This model also has a WiFi connection but it works with smart home devices such as Alexa and Google. You can read our review of Deebot N79S for more information.

Recommendation – Should you by Ecovac Deebot N79?
Before purchasing the Deebot N79, minimally we recommend checking out the upgraded Deebot N79S model. This has more benefits such as longer run time, as well as Alexa and Google Assistant connectivity.
Within the same general price range, you may want to also consider the Deebot 500 Robot Vacuum with Max Suction which has become a favorite of many people looking for a low price robot vacuum for pet hair.
From there, it comes down to looking at your budget and your needs. Over the years there have been many advancements in robot vacuums. And while the Deebot N79 once stood out in the crowd, Ecovacs (as well as other brands like iRobot and Eufy Boost IQ) have released robot vacuums that do more for the same price.
